Today, the max waiting period for password activation at www.SaintPaulGirls.com, www.G18Spot.com and www.G18HDTV.com shortened from 15 to 10 minutes.
To reach all the 100+ sites linked from www.Girls18.com, it may take a few minutes longer.
Signup processing by Epoch billing at www.SaintPaulGirls.com is immediate. The max 10 minutes period is needed by our distribution robot that distributes passwords to all G18 sites. This robot runs each 10 minutes, always at HH:00, HH:10, HH:20, HH:30, HH:40 and HH:50 of each hour. The robot can’t run more often, in like one minute interval, because that would overload system of Servcob billing, and we still have quite a few Servcob-billed members.
I believe 10 minutes wait is pretty reasonable for password distribution in such a big site group as G18 is.

The “Back to main content page” links in www.SaintPaulGirls.com that were persistently shooting you to G18Spot have been fixed.
For this I had to write a script that scours the whole structure of the site and fixes the individual HTML files.
The scripts also counts the fixed gallery pages so now we have exact page and image count in SPG.
SaintPaulGirls today contains 4220 galery pages, each page contains 15 images, so right now our brand new site contains 63 300 pictures, about 10% of all pics in G18. Videos were not counted yet, for this I’ll have to write another script. Total data volume of G18 (including SaintPaulGirls) is approximately 1.3TB

Saint Paul Kitten, the long-promissed new site in our group, is comming on-line finally. Right now, integration with a new billing service is under way. In a few weeks, we shall have a new toy!
New billing provider Epoch Billing promisses faster and more reliable signup processing and far better affiliate management than our current main biller Servcob. We’ll be testing this new solution at the SaintPaul site only at first and if the service proves to be as good as advertised (and I sure hope it will), it may gradually replace Servcob as our main signup processor.
Please, note that ast this moment SaintPaulKitten site is NOT yet active. Do NOT attempt to sign up yet. As soon as the site is integrated with Epoch and good to go, I’ll post a note here and in our Forum and inform all Forum members and members of our G18News mailing list.

Today, www.G18HDTV.com received an absolutely crazy update - ONE HUNDRED GIGABYTES of content in one single day.
The member’s area of www.G18HDTV.com is now divided in two, the first part now contains 373 HDTV videos and the second contains 66 Blu-ray videos. The total data volume of www.G18HDTV.com is today (06-mar-2009) whooping 394.430.720.309 bytes. This does NOT count www.g18spot.com, which today contains about 300 gigs. There’s a masive upload stream flowing to the Spot now so exact count is not available.
More standard HDTV and Blu-ray videos are piled up in our massive, never ending upload queue.

Please, read this before attempting download of the new HDTV vids.
Please, make sure that you RIGHT-click on the links and use Save-As. Left-clicking does NOT work.
Please, use plain vanilla Internet Explorer for grabbing the vids from www.g18hdtv.com, both standard HDTV and the Blu-ray ones, FireFox doesn’t work OK with them at the moment.
Let me explain what’s happening:
In the last few weeks, we migrated to a completely new server with a completely new concept of data storage and processing, and different version of UNIX. It is a quantum leap in internet hosting, distributed “cloud” processing and distributed, multiple-redundant, massively bigger and massively faster storage.
This new technology is what makes at all possible all these great chunks of good news I’m throwing at you guys. Before this upgrade, serving video in Blu-ray quality was simply impossible. I can now store a hell lot of extra data, both in terms of disk space in terabytes and number of files in millions, AND we can pump to the world far more more terabytes per day then before.
Now, this shiny new technology will most probably need weeks and maybe months of tweaking. There are some memory overrun problems that seem to be fixed by now and the new UNIX brought back the browser compatibility issue that had been fixed already. Before the migration both my Microsoft Internet explorer and my FireFox were able to download from both www.g18hdtv.com and www.g18spot.com just fine, now downloads run just fine with IE but not FireFox. This will be fixed, of course. Right now, the way is simply using IE just for the downloading. I myself also prefer FireFox for everything else.

Ok, this is BOMBASTIC affirmation and as far as I know it’s true.
Our www.G18HDTV.com is THE WORLD’S FIRST SITE to publish videos in Blu-ray quality. Blu-ray means native 1920×1080 resolution encoded at whooping 16Mbps. The data format that Blu-ray discs are encoded is a version of AVCHD, a format in which our raw videos come in from photographers since 2008. I decided not to publish AVCHD on-line because players that play this format well are few for PC and Mac. Instead, we stick to Divx, which gives very much the same crisp image quality when encoded at these lavish 16Mbps, and there are great many free players that play hi-res Divx well.
We now have over 100 Blu-ray videos uploading to www.g18hdtv.com. Today, I released first nine of them. Also, I decided for early release of March standard HDTV videos so www.g18hdtv.com now contains 253 HDTV videos and 9 Blu-ray vids.

Today, I have a bombastic piece of news:
G18 will be world’s first teen site to go Blu-ray!
Blu ray HDTV uses a version of 16Mbps AVCHD encoding.
I’ve compared the quality of this signal with 16Mbps Divx and I believe that there’s no quality loss, the formats are perfectly comparable. Yes, there’s visible quality gain from our standard HDTV 8Mbps encoding, especially in scenes with a lot of background complexity, like our favorite water scenes, and also with fine closeups.
AVCHD players are still a big trouble to find, install and run. So for now I think we’ll stick to Divx - but at true Blu-ray quality! Our raw videos are 18Mbps Sony format, which is a version of AVCHD and in a month or so we’ll start getting 24Mbps source signal. So our content is pretty much ready for Blu-ray quality distribution.
I’m reprocessing 88 latest videos into 16Mbps HDTV signal and uploading to www.G18HDTV.com as we speak.
I’ll also reprocess the closeups, now encoded in 1280×720p ar 6Mbps and publish them also in 12Mbps. So as soon as I can process and upload everything, www.g18hdtv.com will contain first 100 Blu-ray vids.

Today, I made available 4 full videos in 1280×720p Divx format for FREE download. You are welcome to hit our brand new auxiliary server and grab the vids here: www.g18hd.com/welcome_videos/ No password is required. These videos are from www.g18hdtv.com.
The idea of this crazy bandwidth-guzzling free offer is to give the new server a hard test run and give members a sneak-peak preview of the image quality of HDTV video.
The videos are encoded in Divx format at 6Mbps. Videos in 1920×1080 resolution are published in 8Mbps Divx format at www.g18hdtv.com and I am thinking even about offering videos in extreme 16Mbps data flow, which is equivalent of blu-ray disc.
These videos are also good for testing your computer, whether it is able to play HD videos. If your computer is brand new, you may need to install Divx codecs. Both Mac and Windows computers may need that. The Divx player and codec is available for free at www.divx.com When you download and install the player, it automatically installs the latest Divx codec, making the codec available also for other players. Once you install the Divx player, you can play Divx video using any player, even Windows Media Player that may have refused Divx video before.
If you computer is old, chance is that you already have Divx codec (but it always is a good idea to update to the last available version), but you may find out that HDTV video requires quite some processing power and memory to play smoothly. If you experience jerky playback of HDTV videos, reboot your computer and open your favorite player only. When you are watching HDTV video on a weaker machine with low memory, do not open any other programs, principally resource-intensive pieces of software like Internet Explorer, Azureus (Vuze), Word, Corel, Auto-Cad and other biggies.
G18 HDTV videos play just fine on my notebook with 1.6GHz single-core processor and 512MB memory, that I’m using for low-spec compatibility testing. Of course, on my top-notch quad-core with 4 gigs of RAM everything is a breeze even with several other programs open.

I need help from members who use MSN, Yahoo and Gmail.
What is happening is that new members who sign up these days quite often receive teheir confirmation emails from Servcob billing - to their SPAM folders.
Of course, if you sign up and don’t get your conformation email, you can always ask me (gregs.helpdesk@gmail.com) and I’ll send you your password manually. But I still need you guys to go to your spam folder, find the original email from Servcob and mark it as “not spam”. This way, we (hopefully) can make MSN, Yahoo and Google learn that indeed automated messages from our billing system should indeed be delivered.

I just received confirmation from our european host that they are on it already. Nothing too bad, only power to our rack is boken, it should be fixed asap.

2008 was a historical year for Girls18.
We made a true quantum leap in 2008. The data size of our site group exploded by incredible 400%, unique features were introduced. We now have very popular hybrid galleries, we have videos in HDTV resolution and we started publishing full-res pictures in downloadable ZIP/RAR files.
We have a new US server which is fast, reliable and allows for multiple downloads. We have faster signup processing. We have new princing structure with many good membership options. Our quality improved, our size exploded and prices went down.
G18 is now world’s biggest site featuring exotic teens and world’s fourth biggest teen site in absolute rating.
We have great girls and great bunch of members, vibrant Forum18.
In 2009, we’ll get better and bigger still.
